Homestay Program

FVAA’s excellent homestay program provides international students with an opportunity to live with carefully selected English speaking families. Our homestay families are committed to providing international students with a safe, supportive and welcoming home environment in which they can experience Canadian culture and develop their ability to speak English fluently. The school provides daily bus transport to and from the homes.

Homestay includes:

A safe, clean and comfortable home
Private bedroom and study area
Three healthy meals a day
Access to laundry facilities, telephone and television
A kind and caring family
Counseling and support while adjusting to Canadian culture
Airport pickup and drop off

WHAT IS HOMESTAY?

Homestay is an opportunity:

for students to learn about Canadian culture;
to practice English in a natural setting; and,
to share your experience with a Canadian family.

As a member of the family, you are expected to follow the family rules, participate in family activities and contribute to the home environment.
Homestay is not:

a hotel
an apartment
private accommodation
